Week 5

The Blog is up, but his weeks Pool Party was a disaster!  There was nothing but dong shots and donkey shows.  It appears that our NFL teams were throwing feces at us this week, only this time; Bobby didn’t get hit in the face…

So here’s what went down:

The most picked team of the week this week was the San Diego (Not So Super) Chargers who were regretfully picked by 4 before they went down to Al Davis’ corpse.   The rest of us bow down in front of Randy McMichael and thank him for being inept at picking up a football.  3 teams were picked 3 times apiece (Jaguars, Saints and Ravens).  3 Teams were also only picked once (Falcons, Colts, and Lions.)  The Bengals, Saints, and Chargers provided the carnage with 9 total losses.

Quick Rundown:

14 people are still around
10 people have a strike against them
5 people gained a strike this week
4 people were knocked out
4 people are flawless
7 people are F’in out!

On to…

The Pick of the Week!

I really don’t want to give this one to this person after he demanded pomp and circumstance and because I actually had a good pick this week, but the pick goes to Bobby Philbrook for his pick of the Lions.  Only to be out done next week if the Niners can actually win a game…look for him in the worst pick of the week column.  Great man’s game pick Bobby, it takes a lot of patience to be able to watch enough NFC West games to be able to predict them.

Worst Pick of the Week:

With so many losses this was hard to choose from since all the teams went down, but this week Neil Jubitz takes the cake with the Chargers.  Why Neil of all the 9 people who lost this week?  Well, because Neil (Judas) is actually a Raiders fan.  You can’t pick against your own team like that!  It’s immoral and it’s only allowed if you are a Bills or Browns fan.  So Neil you get the worst pick of the week for bringing Karma upon yourself, as well as the other 3 people you screwed over by picking them.  Now remember folks, don’t choose this guy on the road.

So after this week we have learned a few things.  Don’t trust the Chargers on the road (0-3 against bad teams).  The T.Ocho show is going to pay much better dividends than picking the Bengals will, and don’t trust Sean Peyton after winning a Super Bowl.  Oh, and always pick against the Bills…

He still hasn’t sobered up….thank you Sean Peyton.

Also, after 5 weeks (really 4) the Redskins have hosed the most people in the league in one week.  The Bengals are the only team that have hurt people in different weeks.

Now its that time for us to say goodbye again…

This week we say goodbye to 4 brave men who found themselves at the receiving end of a lot of bad losses.  This week we say good bye too Sam Finley, Dan Fitzpatrick, Matt Nichols, and drum roll please….RYAN PURCELL!  Now why is Ryan getting such high praise?  Well Ryan’s Mom dropped off same cash this weekend, just in time for Purcell to get donkey punched by the only safe pick he took during this whole party.  So we would all like to thank the Chargers and Saints for getting us that much closer to $420 duckets.  Don’t fret though guys, I still had time to get your pictures and subsequent bios (still to come) for the website.  You won’t go away in vain and you certainly didn’t have as bad of a week as a certain Braves 2nd baseman did (MOTHER FU#$%*!!!!).  Also, to our knowledge you didn’t have any dong shots either, but lets face it.  If I had Jenn Sterger’s number I’d wish I had too…

On a final note.  This Party is going down hill faster than Alex Smith’s career (ok, not possible), but we are heading for this thing being done by week 9.  I propose a side pot if anyone is interested.  You can re-up by week 8 and have all your teams back in it.  What do you guys think?  Since many are out, and many like myself are limping in I thought it would be fun to extend the season a bit for those of us who would like to keep playing.  So whether you are in or not you can join the side pot, which will have no connection to the $420 invested.  I was thinking $10 a person this time around and everyone gets every team to choose from again.  What do you guys think?  I will need actual responses if you are interested or not so let me know soon!

Now enjoy the blog!  It isn’t fully finished yet, but its on its way.  Apparently after you close it down things don’t like to stay put so sorry it took so long.  Let me know your thoughts and opinions and let me know if I can do anything else.

Thanks and don’t forget to pick!

Ryan McPool Master

P.S.  Don’t sue me.

Week 4 Update

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the late update.  Left town after Monday so I wasn’t able to fit this in after the game.  Probably should have done it beforehand but whatever.

Lots of close calls this week!  I think many of us were sweating our tournament lives thanks to the Saints and Packers putting on beautiful performances at home, which would have crippled the league.  Or at least, gotten about 5 or 6 people knocked out.  Unfortunately, only 2 went down this week in what ended up being a very mundane week, capped off with a rematch from 1926 with the Chicago Cardinals playing the NY Giants on Sunday Night.  WOOOOF!

The most picked team this week was the Saints with 5, followed closely by the Jets with 4.  The Patriots were the least picked team with only one person picking them.

Another quick recap:

18 people are still around
9 people have a strike against them
1 person gained a strike this week
2 people were knocked out
9 people are flawless
3 people are F’in out!

Pick of the week:

Pick of the week this week goes to Ryan Pur…oh wait he hasn’t paid yet.  The pick of the week goes to Sam Heinlein and Mike Zahler for picking the Texans in what could have been a let down game after that debacle last week in Houston.
Honorable Mention:  This week goes to the Minnesota Vikings for getting Randy Moss from the Patriots for 2 bills and an HJ; much like Ben Clark use to at the Temple of Pong.

Worst pick of the week:

Goes to Ryan Purcell for picking the Pats, because you haven’t paid!  Get your damn money in.  We all know your sitting around doing nothing in North Medford.  Nice pick though.  The spread for that game was a PK.

On a side note everyone is probably wondering why I let Purcell hang around.  If you look at his last 3 picks they haven’t exactly been smart so I figure it’s a free 20 bucks to the winner, eventually.  He just can’t keep this luck up and has already been burned once.  He assured me that he will hand it to me in person on Saturday.  If not, I’ll boot him and he will owe $40 if he wants in next year.  However, on popular vote if everyone is not ok with this let me know since you have all paid.

So this leaves us with most of the league still intact.  Just pick against the Bill.

Also, I’m not pulling everyone’s chain with the website.  It is coming.  It has been started we are just trying to figure out how to update it.  We may need to just do a blog for this year, because the host may cost a little too much right now.

Here’s a quick preview of your Pool Boy Pick Em’ Website…

No, that actually won’t be the logo (hopefully), but it is the picture up on the site right now.  Along with Trent’s slogan “Choose your fantasy, pool boys or pick ‘em, we got both.”  Which probably will stick around.

The Pool Party is over…

It’s that time of the week again to sadly say goodbye to those who have gone astray.  This week we bid ado to Marcus Arnold and Joe Church.  These two young men were only able to last 3 weeks, but provided great memories along the way.  They did a pretty poor job of cleaning the pool, and both like to play it conservatively but were burnt by poor QB play and a man with a golden foot.  Thank you again for your contributions.  We will make sure to have a good laugh in your name Marcus, whenever we think of the Jags this year when they end up winning only 5 games and you as well Joe, when the Browns only win 2.

At least you aren’t this sad, sad man, but your still both F’in Out!:
Just read the first one.

Week 3 Update

Week 3 results are in!  What a mess…All I have to say is Donovan McNabb crapped on us all again or at least most of us.  Guess he didn’t have enough sugar cubes and oats this week…

Here’s a quick recap:

20 people are still around.
10 people have a strike against them
10 people are flawless
1 person is F’in out!

I also must say I do not appreciate the sex toys, cum shots and over all man love comments with these checks that I am receiving.

Pick of the week:

Goes to….Erik (with a K) Weiss.  Mostly, because I had my 49ers money on you going out first.   Alas, I was wrong; which means you are in good shape since every time 49er money is used I get hosed.  Ask Bobby.  So Erik, congrats on being the only one who picked the Colts and sticking around.  Which brings me to my next point.  Next year we are totally doing a side pot on betting who thinks who is going out first.  Any interest there?  Another side pot will be which week do I break down and send out a mass Packer rant.  You don’t get a guess this year because it’s coming tomorrow in the form of a baby seal clubbing coach.

Worst pick of the week:

Definitely goes to Ryan Purcell for picking the Texans.  As I receive Purcell’s text message for his pick I am sent this along with it “Texans! Mans game! I wanna win this thing the right way.”  Well Purcell, this league isn’t about measuring wang sizes it’s about outlasting everyone else.  So try not to two pump chump, because another one like that and we will all thank you for your $20 and your pochinco chin chin.

So this leaves us with 9 people losing this week and 8 at the incapable hands of Donovan McNabb.  So much for those sure things…From here on out I recommend everyone pick Boise State or anyone playing the Bills.

Also, we have received almost all of the payments.  There are a few people who we are still waiting on but I have been assured they are in the mail.  I am cashing these checks on Thursday so if I do not have it by then you may be out of the league so get them in.  If they are already mailed that shouldn’t be a problem!  Bobby and Kevin live in California and Minnesota and I already have their money.  Thank you again to everyone who has paid on time.

The blog/ website for the league is also underway.  I didn’t get any emails with names so we will be going with something cheesy but easy to remember.  I’ll send an email out when it is complete, but it is under way.  Has to do with Pool Boys thanks to all the man love checks…

And now its time...to say goodbye…to our friend J-u-s-t-i-n  B-e-l-d-i-n-g.  After two weeks into the inaugural season of Pool Boy Pick Em’ our dear friend Justin is being booted from our party scene for being too belligerent.  He had an unfortunate string of luck with two incompetent quarterbacks and is no longer allowed to stay at the pool house.  Your F’in out!  Maybe next year!  The rest of us will all go on hating Donovan McNabb as much as you do in your honor.

Now the rest of your pray that I complete this website before I get knocked out or this posting is about to get reeeeeeaaaallll lazy!

Week 1

What a first (errr second) week!  Some upsets and ballsy picks.

Here’s a recap:

21 people are still around.
3 People have a strike against them.
18 people still have sterling records.

Pick of the week:

This weeks pick of the week goes to…

Dan Stone, with Bengals over the Ravens!  Now granted this pick could probably have been used on a much simpler foe and probably was made under the influence of a couple cold ones on a Friday night before the Beavers home opener.  Regardless, it was the pick of the week and an impressive one at that!  Congratulation Dan, this award, however, means absolutely nothing other than a few pats on the back…

Worst pick of the week:

Justin Belding.  Never trust Matt Moore.  However, If it weren’t for a pick off for a touchdown I would be sitting here on this one with my pick of the Chiefs.  My risk luckily paid off thanks to bouquet of “Flowers” from Seneca Wallace.

Without further ado here are the picks and standings from this last week

If you forget to pick….

So there is the run down so far.   Justin, Eric, and Paul you are one loss away from being F’in out!!!

If you haven’t paid please do so.  I don’t want to have to send out a bunch of mass text messages all week.  I would also appreciate an email or text letting me know it’s in the mail.  For those who wrote checks, those will be cashed at the end of the week.  Again, you have until Saturday to get me the cash if you haven’t done so already.  Thank you to everyone who have already done so.  It makes things a lot easier.

Also, I will be looking to create a blog/ website for this league soon to post picks, make comments, talk crap, check updates, etc.  Anyone with some creative names I can use related to this pick ‘em to create an easy to remember site would be great.  I better not get any names like Kyron Hormon’s Ghost (I’m looking at you Pat Kelly).

Thanks,

Ryan
